The Germans start a new offensive east of Riga.
They punch holes in the line over a wide front.
My losses are moderate.
The Germans advance a few kilometres, but nothing to worry about.
Their push in the south is more of a worry.
As expected, the advance on Smolensk starts up once more.
My units fall back before the might of the German war machine, but losses are no longer so one sided.
My men are making them pay for every meter of ground they take.
There are still places I take heavy losses however.
Once more, my entire front line is routed.
The defenders of the city are cleared out, and once more the city of Smolensk changes hands.
For having faced three offensives at once, 100k losses is pretty good.
In the north I hit a few isolated units.
I manage to rout these guys.
The whole north flank of the Smolensk offensive is manned by weak units. Its a real shame my own units are to battered to do much about it.
I patch the front as best I can. Let's hope they've run out of fuel again!
Moving south I continue to hit their weak units.
They apparently took offence to my moves here, but I'm now honour bound to save that cavalry unit.
So the micro offensive continues.
I continue it down the line.
Before sealing off their advance.
Let's see if we can get them to panic – the ferrys in the south most likley mean this is not an encirclement, but it's not going to do anything good to their supply lines!
That's a giant thumbs up to my offensive in the south! It's paper thin and will be shredded, but it will stop any forward movement for a time.
