The attacks towards Zaporozhye continue.
They break the line.
Then advance a bit more.
Apparently, these forces were still cut off, and surrender.
As were these guys, the cowards!
They follow this with a small breakthrough.
The Smolensk offensive continues.
They are making a salient inside a salient.
Even with combat dropping off, those surrenders cause lots of losses.
I go on the offensive on the north.
I rout several units.
The line breaks.
This is some nice advances.
We strike along the south of this pocket. Here I also pick up a AA unit, which bumps up their losses.
On the north of the salient sees me breaking the line.
In two places.
I can't resist sending a tank unit through.
So, I of course have to try the other side.
Their line cracks.
It seems I'm starting my offensive!
We also move fast at the tip.
This is weak as hell, but it's a start – they move troops to save this or move troops further south.
I continue to hit near Kiev.
The line cracks, but most of my forces are in other areas.
These attacks carry on down the line.
A nice general advance to keep them honest.
I keep up the pressure down here.
Those damn panzers on the very south are holding this whole area together.
I probe the edges here as well.
I of course close this off.
So, this offensive is a couple of turns to early – the mechanized forces are only just coming out of the reserves. But the weak spots were there, and I had to take the chance – I've broken their line in numerous places, and they are going to have to spread themselves thin to stop me. I can always shift the mechanized forces to Kiev to support that push!
